Weather warming up a bit. Snow is starting to melt. Still lots on the ground though. Highways and most major roads are clear.

I have been online looking for a drum carder. I need one before I can do any more spinning.
I have quite a bit of alpaca fleece as well as Maggie's mohair, some of it is still in the raw, some of it still needs to be sorted but most of it is ready to be carded.
There are several carders online for sale, by the time I pay shipping on some of them I could probably get a new one!
I need to spend more time looking for the more affordable ones and figuring out what the cost will be with shipping and handling.
I have never bought online so a little leery of doing so. Also, I didn't realise there were so many different makes of carders. Do any of the spinners reading this have any suggestions or preference on brand names?

Day 4 still snowing.
Works for me. Most people do not agree however, so I have to be careful to whom I say YIPPEEE !!!!















Good new. The Rabbit man finally came by on the weekend and took 7 bunnies. I had 10 of them all in this pen. Far too crowded. A new and bigger, better pen is in the works, just not done yet. Also have Benjamin living on his own. I want to take him to the vet and get him fixed, than he can live with the other rabbits. All female.

Well. Here I am, back again.
I was sure my blogging days were over. No matter what I tried, I could not get on to my blog. I wasn't even able to get through to the blogger help!
My friend Sharon, who has my blogger name and password, wasn't as willing to give up as I was. She called me last evening to say she had gotten on to my blog with out a problem! Go figure!!

Anyway, It started snowing about 1/2 hour ago. I love to see the snow. I went out to get some pictures but it is a bit too dark.
The critters however, are not as thrilled about it as I am.
The poor chickens huddled together under the outside table not wanting to venture from their only none white domain even though it was past roosting time.
I ended up going out and shooing them on their way to 'bed'
One of the chicken is not looking so good. I carried her in and put her in with Benjamin the bunny for the night.

It is now the next morning and it is still snowing and it looks wonderful.
First down side of it though is that the anual Greyhound Christmas Party has been posponed until next week. Greyhound owners from near and far travel to attend it but some areas have had a heaver downfall and the road are not that great to be out on, so we keep our fingers crossed for better weather next week.

The chicken looks better this morning but I will keep her in with Bengamin a bit longer. I don't want the other chickens to start picking on her.

I took my spinning wheel with me and went to visit a friend one day last week.
She is also a spinner.
We shared a pot of tea, and both sat at our wheels as we chatted. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours.

We both decided we should try to do it on a regular basis.

I went with her as she checked and feed her live stock.
For long time readers, her cow April, is the one that we spent days looking for a while back.
April was pregnant and managed to escape from her field. Several of us froze as we searched for her in the snow.
She was found several days later and brought safely home. I took a few pictures of her with her calf along with a few other critters that my friend has.

We finally got the mink that was responsible for the slaughter of out ducks.
It went into the live trap that we set for it.
A friend shot and killed it for us.
A trapper told us the easiest way to kill it would be to drown it.
I want them gone but would sooner buy ammunition for the gun than see one die by drowning.
