My family and I had a nice Christmas together.

I am looking forward to the New Year and like many others I have a few goals that I hope to achieve in 2007.
One of them is probable first on many lists and that is to lose weight.
It was only about 5 years ago that I was horrified that I was going over 125 lbs, I was mortified when I couldn't stay under 130lbs and now at just about 150 lbs. it is time to get control.
Even 140 lbs would be good about now!
I will keep you posted on that. If I don't, feel free to remind me...!!!!
Also on my goal list is to become a bit more organized and consistent.
A lot of things fall under that category and I need to break them down into specific things before I will see progress.
That in its self is a goal I think!

The hay manger that we made for the goats last summer was easy for them to waste a lot of hay from.
After looking on line at other mangers I had an idea of what I wanted and tried to explain my design to Rob.
He not only understood what I wanted, he was able built this manger for me and it is better than I had hoped for.
It has a deep tray at the bottom that catches the hay that they pull out, It no longer fall on the floor to be trodden on, peed on, pooped on and generally waisted.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

It is raining again and the sky is looking full of a promise not to let up on the rain any time soon.
It is very dark and over cast at the moment.

This morning looked much different than it does now.
The sun was shinning and it was quite lovely to be out side. I was able to get a bit of clean up done in and around the goat shelter before the rain started again.
I also built two very simple boxes that I can place the animals water buckets in. The goats are for ever tipping the buckets over leaving not only them selves with out fresh water but the chickens, duck and rabbits as well.

I am looking forward to a good Christmas.
Our daughter is having bit of an open house Christmas Eve day that we will be going to.
Christmas morning she will be making breakfast for the family and we will open gifts. I will be cooking the Christmas dinner and the family will all come here for that. I think there will be 10 of us.

We have had quite the storms around these parts in the last few weeks.
The snow had barely gone before the rains came, on top of the rain came the wind.

We were lucky that our power was out for only 6 hours. Some people were out for a week or more.

Thanks to our son, we have a generator at the ready, also, we have a wood stove for heat so we are not as inconvenienced as many by in climate weather.
Rob was out of town during the first of the wind and rain storms.
I hate to admit I was a little unnerved by the sound of trees falling around me.
The one that hit the under-construction work shop made a real loud thud that got a bit of a scream out of me!

Oh woe is me...I have just finished writing a new blog. Then, by the click on the mouse, the whole thing was gone!
Gerrr. Starting again...

I went to an open house at Hummingbird fibre arts on the weekend.
I was able to buy a Louet Junior drum carder for a good price because it had been used as demo.
It has been difficult for me to stay off of it long enough to get other things done. I took my bags of alpaca out of the cupboard as soon as I got home and have been carding every day. Feels wonderful to just be able to sit, in my in my own little space, and card.

Its nice out today, the sun is shinning and the trees have steam coming from them.
Still lots of snow on the ground but It should melt fast today under the warmth of the sun.
I took this picture last evening of the snow on our little bridge in the back yard.
